The World Coal Association (WCA) is holding a series of roundtables throughout 2018 to explore coal and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The most recent roundtable was held in Johannesburg on 3 July. The roundtable brought together a range of stakeholders for a high-level discussion on the issues, challenges and opportunities for coal and the SDGs, with a focus on southern Africa. Stakeholders provided different perspectives, covered a number of geographic regions and addressed the entire lifecycle of coal, from mining through to its use.
A summary note of discussions is available here, along with information on the first roundtable held in London in March this year.
