The Climate for Coal: Challenges and Opportunities - A Discussion

Brussels, 16 November 2010

WCA hosted a panel discussion in Brussels bringing together leading figures from government, industry and NGOs. This event examined a range of issues including the future of
international climate change negotiations, carbon capture and storage, gas demand and "alternative" coal.

WCA Roundtable 'Beyond Copenhagen - Coal's Role in a Low Carbon World'

Brussels, Tuesday 10 November 2009

WCA hosted a policy roundtable in Brussels to consider what is expected at COP-15, to discuss the future of coal in Europe and to look beyond the Kyoto Protocol. "Beyond Copenhagen - Coal's Role in a Low Carbon World" brought together WCI members, EURACOAL members, industry stakeholders, NGO's and key figures from the European Commission and European Parliament.

Climate Change & Coal: US Actions & Opportunities

WCA Roundtable, Washington DC, 23 June 2009

The Roundtable brought together key players within the US energy and environment field with World Coal Association Board Members and invited guests to discuss the challenge of reconciling continued coal use with energy and climate change objectives.
